4.Hagia Sophia

One of Istanbul’s most distinctive and identifiable landmarks, the magnificent Hagia Sophia, is often regarded as the pinnacle of Byzantine design. In 537 AD, Emperor Justinian I built the Orthodox cathedral. It was later converted into an imperial mosque by the Ottomans. The Hagia Sophia, previously the world’s largest structure, comprises four narrow minarets on either side of a massive dome.

Its expansive interior is packed with stunning columns and arches, and it is now a well-known museum featuring incredible frescoes and mosaics. When in Istanbul, visit Hagia Sophia, which is located on the banks of the Bosphorus and is near to the Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace.
