12 Most Beautiful Churches in the World

7.Sacré-Coeur

Sacré-Coeur, one of Paris’ most recognizable monuments, maintains a commanding location atop Montmartre and provides breathtaking views of the city. The gleaming white cathedral, with two cupolas flanking a big dome and a stunning Byzantine design, was built in 1914.

Above the doorway of this key national site are two horse statues of Joan of Arc and Louis IX, both French saints. The interior is similarly beautiful, with one of the world’s largest mosaics covering the massive dome. Sacré-Coeur is today a popular tourist attraction, attracting millions of people each year.
