5.Duomo di Milano
The Duomo di Milano, with its enormously ornate and artistically sculpted facade, was constructed over nearly six centuries. The massive Gothic masterpiece, one of the world’s largest cathedrals, has multiple majestic spires and arches, and its nave is lined with exquisite flying buttresses.
Its façade and interior are decorated in a large number of exquisite sculptures, including Pellegrini’s sacred altars and the statue of Saint Bartholomew. The Duomo di Milano is a notable architectural, cultural, and historical landmark in Italy, and the baptistery beneath its floors dates back to 335.
