8.Las Lajas Sanctuary
Las Lajas Sanctuary, with its spectacular Gothic Revival style building, is nestled in a canyon on Colombia’s Guaitara River. The spectacular refuge, built between 1916 and 1949, is set on a 130-foot-high bridge that spans a river and overlooks a glittering waterfall.The church, which is not far from the Ecuadorian border, was founded following a supernatural appearance of the Virgin Mary and is now one of Colombia’s most well-known pilgrimage sites.
